Disclaimer

Last updated 9 October 2026

This disclaimer explains what the pack is, what it is not, and the terms on which it is licensed. It applies to the Essential SMB1001 Cyber Document Pack, including the Silver and Gold packages and any optional add-on policies.

What you are buying

The Essential SMB1001 Cyber Document Pack is a licence to use standardised legal documents: seven policies in the Silver package and ten in the Gold package, mapped to SMB1001:2027, formally published 1 September 2026. Optional add-on policies are licensed separately. Prices are in Australian dollars and include 10% GST, for 12 months or 36 months paid upfront. Pricing for firms with 51 or more people is available on application.

The fee is a one-time licence fee for the term you choose. It is not a subscription for legal services.

These documents are not legal advice

DLC Legal is a law firm, but the pack is offered as a standardised product under licence. Buying it does not create a solicitor and client relationship, a retainer, or an ongoing engagement for advice about your circumstances.

The documents are templates completed with the answers you provide. They are not legal advice and do not take your particular objectives, situation or needs into account. If your business needs advice on its own circumstances, engage DLC Legal or another qualified adviser separately.

No guarantee of outcomes

The documents are general templates mapped to SMB1001:2027. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DLC Legal does not warrant that any document is fit for your particular purposes, complete, current, suitable for your industry or systems, or enforceable in any respect.

Holding or using the policies does not mean that you are SMB1001 compliant. Mapping to SMB1001 does not guarantee certification or compliance. You remain responsible for ensuring that the controls mapped to the policies are implemented and operating in your business. Certification or full compliance may require additional technical, operational and assurance measures specific to your business. Technical support, cyber insurance and Education and Training are not included in the pack.

Your responsibility

Read each document carefully before relying on it. The answers you supply are printed into the documents as given, so check them before generating. You are responsible for putting the controls described in the policies into practice and retaining appropriate evidence that they operate. Do not rely on the documents alone; consider them alongside your business's own systems, contracts, insurance and regulatory obligations, and seek professional advice where anything is uncertain.

Updates and licence term

Templates may be refined over time. A one-year product licence runs for 12 months from successful payment and a three-year product licence runs for 36 months from successful payment. There is no automatic renewal, and we send a reminder three months before the product licence ends.

The product licence term is separate from SMB1001 certification validity. An organisation's certification remains valid for one year from its date of issue. Certification or recertification sought after a new SMB1001 edition is formally published must conform to the edition current on the application date.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DLC Legal and its directors, employees and agents are not liable to you or anyone else for any loss, cost, expense, claim or damage arising out of or in connection with the use of, or reliance on, the documents, the pack or this site, whether arising in contract, negligence, tort, equity or statute, and whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes, restricts or modifies any right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.

Before you pay

Full sample policies can be viewed on the pack page before payment so you can see what to expect. Once purchased, the licence fee is non-refundable. If anything in this disclaimer is unclear, contact enquiries@dlclegal.com.au before you buy.
